Quality Headshots on a Budget That Book You Work

An actor's headshot should reflect your personality and acting range, while also being an authentic representation of you. Headshots are not about being a pretty face. Far from it actually. Your headshot serves as your main marketing material. It is your tool that ties in your casting websites, social media, postcards, business cards and more. It does not matter how talented you are, your headshot may initially determine if a casting director wants you to even audition, as your headshot is the first thing they see. So your headshot needs to look like you in real life, but also specific to the characters you can play. You will convey your type, age range, potential occupations, personality traits, inner emotions and more. I understand how difficult this process can be, so I will do everything I can to make you feel at ease, have fun, and get the images you need to book you work.

So what is the process like?

1) Connect with me!

After reviewing my portfolio and confirming I’m the right fit for you, feel free to reach out via email with any questions or schedule your session below! Once you’ve selected a date , paid the deposit and signed the service agreement, your session is officially booked!

2) Planning.

To maximize your session and keep things stress-free, pre-planning is essential! We’ll discuss your type (something you should already know), styling, and other important details. All sessions are location-based, and I’ve curated specific areas to provide a variety of atmospheres and looks. If you have representation, let me know—agents or managers often like to be involved to ensure the shoot aligns with the roles they’re submitting you for.

3) Finalizing Looks.

Finalizing wardrobe is a must and should be completed no later than one week before our session. Your wardrobe should align with the type of roles you’re being submitted for. If you need help selecting outfits, I’m happy to assist by offering suggestions based on your type and roles. I love contributing to styling whenever possible!

4) Shoot Day.

The big day is here! Thanks to our pre-planning, you’ll feel more prepared than you realize. Think of it as hanging out with a friend—I’ll be there to guide and support you throughout the process. Keep an open mind, relax, and enjoy yourself. Let’s create something amazing together!

5) Afterwards.

Once we wrap up, I’ll upload all the images into a proof gallery. I’ll filter out any that don’t meet professional standards (even the best actors have outtakes!) and email the proof gallery to you (or your agent/manager). From there, images will be selected to be retouched. Turnaround time for the proof gallery is typically 72 business hours, though it’s often ready the next day.

6) Retouching.

After you (or your agent) select the images, I’ll begin retouching. My approach is minimal but impactful, focusing on enhancing each image with color correction, light skin touch-ups (like blemish removal), and eliminating distractions. I do not perform major alterations such as face swapping, body contouring, or erasing natural textures like wrinkles or fine lines—your skin is meant to look real and real is beautiful.

7) Delivery.

Final retouched images will be delivered via WeTransfer within two weeks. Be sure to download them to a computer (not a mobile device) to maintain the integrity of the files.

You can even take it one step further!

If you want even MORE auditions, you will need a “Slate Shot”.

As an actor, you should be familiar with the term “Slate” when you are submitting your video auditions.

A slate shot is a short video where you simply say your name, or “Hello. My name is Michael.”

A slate shot is a great way for casting directors to hear your voice and to get a feel for your energy and personality.

Having a slate shot attached to your casting websites, such as Actors Access, bumps you to the top of the search results and you will be one of the first submissions a casting director sees.

Add on this 30 minute service to your headshot session and be fully prepared for casting directors!
